Lent Prayer 20

suffering builds endurance,
which builds character,
which builds
hope

at least that is the hope
and not just that we
will suffer
alone

without meaning.

your son is the living
voice of that hope
in his suffering
alone

that has turned to be
hope for so many,
the touch of
your hand

to take the worst the
world can dish out
and transform
for good.

may it be so.
