that quick – March 6

3.6.2016

we put the dog

outside to save

him from the

smoke alarm

screech.

when we step out

to the yard to call

him, the yard he

never runs off

from, he is gone.

gone gone

nowhere in sight,

nowhere within

shout, gone.

a hole in the air,

where his something

should be.

darling, drive carefully

out there

we can all be gone

that quick.

This is really effective! I didn’t really expect that ending so it caught me by surprise but that’s what makes it so effective:)
