interior work – March 8

3.8.2017 [interior work: reflections on a dream]

he slides his hand

into the jacket pocket

an envelope partly

folded, holding directions

he no longer wants

to follow

burdens, laid on by

connection to connection

that need letting go of.

a kind hand reaches out

to touch the tensions

on his head, evident, hard

thin tight encasing pressures

needing release.

later later, the word comes,

we will do something with

this later; to heal, to help,

to let an old man’s burden

ease.
