old quality needing
quality care.
solid on the road
a feel of command
as if engineering

even good lineage

Hello friends,
Nice to back after a busy but fruitful break. We were in Texas, Europe and Florida… and yes it is lovely to be home. I’ll be putting up some poems from the Europe cycle this next week or so.
Also nice to share that a new book I did with my illustrator friend Paul Shaffer is now available on Amazon.com — Safe in a Tree: Imara and Me. It’s a children’s book I did for a home for unwed teenage mothers in Kenya, Imara International, that’s close to my heart. It was started by another friend and former colleague — Carol Erickson– a few years ago, and has a wonderful compassionate ministry/outreach. Here’s the link: http://www.amazon.com/Safe-Tree-Imara-Leonard-Freeman/dp/1519398468/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1448053731&sr=1-3&keywords=Leonard+Freeman
All proceeds go to Imara… so hey, take a shot. $10 for a nice children’s book, and a contribution to a good cause.
Best and Blessings,
Len
Hi friends,
A little time out here …. traveling in Europe and working on a couple of new projects… a Europe poems cycle, a children’s book for Imara International – a home for teen-aged unwed mothers in Kenya – and a six-week course on the story of the Silver Screen Cowboys for the U of MN OLLI classes early next year. One nice piece of news for those of you who viewed and reviewed my Talking with God, prayer-poems project… it’s due out as the Lent 2017 book from Forward Movement publishers… so thanks for all your help.
Be back soon.
Blessings,
Len

mists ghost across
the morning field
like a whisper
birds at the tube
alternate their
flitting in
and away
softly softly they
say to my
anxiety
we are a window
to a calmer
world.
