vulnerable unknowing – October 19

10.19.2014

a storm comes through,

a tower a thousand

miles away goes dark,

the airplane

stops.

someone gets sick

someone several

thousand miles

away dies,

we freeze

terrified.

the electric is out

in the morning for

reasons we cannot

quite find, but we

are at the wrong end

of it. and alone.

we thought we were safe,

the woods and dark

spookies put to flight.

the new complexity

now chokes us

survivors no more.

just lucky and not

knowing

that safety left the

field, long ago.

yesterday.
