life along the banks – March 31

trees swaying in winds

bolder than daylight

slower than haste

cobalt blue sky

reflecting the half

light of mid day

changed now season

snow gone, ground

bare, waiting, birds

rap-a-tat at dappled

deer while pond ice

melts away from edges

to accept more and more

along the banks.
