I move slowly
so as to not scare
a move.
last week they
brawled, yowled
careened
in a death match
today with soft breezes
and bird songs above
they loll
within feet of
each other
one a hind leg
lifted overhead
for carefree cleaning
the other rolling
onto his back in the sun
legs akimbo.
clearly settlement
has been reached.
