a mated pair – September 26

9.26.2015

across the pond

their bodies so

entwined they

seem as one

the two trumpeters

nuzzle and dip

in their safe

solitude

comforting and tending

for one another

in nature’s redoubt.

watching, we walk

the path around

their pond refuge

hand in hand.

a mated pair.
