throwbacks – June 19


we sit in adirondacks

on the front lawn


to when there was

no internet or telly

or ac.


a place to look out

across our garden

to where the overhead

canopy melds

into the street

and flows down

out of sight.


friends sit with us there

and talk, sharing

a glass, blessedly free

of the electronic
