beds now empty – February 27

2.27.2016

beds now empty

we move tables

chairs rugs

desks

adjusting steps

for playing

the next

game.

waiting for my lover – February 25

2.25.2016

waiting for my lover,

anxious, agitated

needy

until she arrives

present, warm,

generous.

how could I have

been so blessed

to find and be

found.

stopping and stepping – February 24

2.24.2016

stopping and stepping

into each others lives

is the gift we give

and receive

from the

One

who loves us all.

wounded winter – February 22

2.22.2016

the ice is turning

bruise yellow.

the current

has broken through

to mark a wounded

winter.

seduction – February 20

2.20 (15).2016

enemies, others,

enslaved beneath

our feet

subject to the

basest whims

seductive in the

fantasy,

so horrific

in cold light

green devils

that seduce

so ugly in the

effect.

who do you think you are – February 18

2.18.2016

who do you think

you are the woman

in the  dream says,

then walks away.

the soul pauses.

there’s no deep pain

to being alone

and whole.

an anger observed – February 17

2.17.2016 (9)

my dad washed

dishes bent over

the sink banging

away with tongue

at side of his lip

striking angrily.

he was doing it

for mom whose

raw cracked hands

bled as she

tore at them

and cried.

he never cried

that I saw or told

me that he loved

me but I never

heard him tell her

either.

he just smote at

the dishes, flailing

the soap scraps

we kept in a jar

for suds, staring

down.

slippery slope – February 16

2.16.2016

the day slips by as

easy as not looking

as hard as counting

time.

starving – February 15

2.15.2106

starving refugees in

Syria, terrorists

hiding amongst

the fled

killers in Kenya,

dead in Taiwan.

God where are

you

do you care are

you there.

Are YOU there

it comes

in my head in my

heart. I sent

Word to move

you

as formed hands

and formed heart

in the space time

of now.

sitting with history – February 12

2.12.2016 [sitting with history]

sitting with history

all around in stacks

and microfiche

in displays that show

past times that are mine.

how can it be

that the everyday

of my life

is now the yesteryear

of theirs

on display to wonder

and point, perhaps

giggle or sigh,

at the oddities of

my days gone by.
