irked snow fairies – March 23

concentrated snow

showers out of

a nearby tree

 

moisture hard falling

off the limbs as

wind bends

 

like thick messages

from irked snow

fairies

 

who have to leave

now that spring

has come.

Druid hearts and

said we understand

 

sacrifice and mystery

are woven deep into

the circle of earth.

 

we honor and bring

you, that the circle

has been healed

 

sacrifice made and

settled, so we need

kill no more.

 

come to the Christ

who loves

and spares you.

spread so easily

 

they left my name

off

 

they didn’t answer

my email, phone,

yell for notice

 

don’t they know,

yes they don’t

 

and so what, so

who is to care

 

but the One who

made and graced

you

 

who is the one that

counts

 

the rest is wind.

blazing orange pinks

streak the eastern sky

the light coming from

a long distance

untrammeled by

city reverberations

light pollutions

car exhaust waves

 

simply streaking

while a half moon

whisps away into

the treelined west.

 

I sit in silence

and sip my coffee,

newspaper present

but unread

in the presence.
