a walk a way a
day a play
a site to sway
a life today.

magic from the inside
the brain a channel of one
to what then emerges
to play as it surges
the brain and the soul
on a run.

8.9.2014
I wander through
basements
through cellars and dreams
the hidden there Jesus
who walks through and
seems
to drift beyond walls
to flow out of sight
while I watch there and listen
for clues in the
night.

8.8.2014
pleasant night, moon
right, thin trees, lemon
breeze
eyes alight, second
sight, with darling’s kisses,
blessed wishes.

8.6.2014
just a new spark plug
not dead, not rotted,
not needing
replacement
just a new spark,
fire, ignition
for older
machinery
still in working
condition.

8.4.2014
rattle screeches, knocks
pings, obstructed music
panging against piano
wire magnetically
resonating endlessly.
silence and waiting.
doctor doctor please
tell me. no. don’t. look
hard enough and you’ll
find something.
what’s that. nothing.
nothing. nothing.
happiest words on
the planet.

8.3.2014
forest glade primeval
dark, bare stream wending,
older trees down, roots
lifted out of the softened earth
by summer squalls.
breathe in, pause.
one barred owl calls
and a lady love replies.
hey big boy, I’m
over here.
the way it was
meant to be.

8.2.2014
long day bunny works,
her words, warped,
twisted, edited
into oblivion
well maybe not oblivion
but it feels that way
after all the labor of
birthing
and then having to
let go to some
editor, romper
chopper
who misses the point
or has another
from what took
so long
to get out
onto
a page.

8.1.2014
jalapeno poppers smack
our taste buds into shock
kicking off an evening
with friends
good to have the low spot
early so that it’s all uphill
from there.

7.31.2014
meat and cheese, PB
and J
menu of the morning
for some, of all day
how did we let it
get so far away
our hearts all hidden
what did they say
about lives gone
unwanted for work
on display. forgotten
abandoned
and yet not just strays
God’s children grown
old, mistakes on display
without us, around us
we’ve so little to say.
except maybe sorry
we didn’t mean you
to fall, ‘twas an unthought
through outcome
of the greed of us all.
