the birds know – July 27

7.27.2016

the birds know.

seven, eight, nine

swirl around

the feeder,

wait their turn,

push in to

take a stance

nuthatch, cardinal

woodpecker, finch

all scrambling

before the storm

a surprise only to

our atrophied

instincts

as wind and hail

ping the car.
