the red balloon ball – July 28

a red balloon ball

has lain atop piled

stream muddle

through several

seasons now

a rise in rainfall

moves it a few

yards towards

the lake beyond

but only until wind

squalls beach it

one day it will be

gone, moved out

onto that larger

like all of us.
